We had an amazing time at AHR 2023 in Atlanta, Georgia, where we celebrated our rep network's achievements and showcased our capabilities. Our Director of Engineering, Dave Binz, had the privilege of introducing Cambridge's latest innovation, the Spec Air Unit, during the event. In case you missed it, here's a recap of Dave's presentation:
What is Spec Air?
Spec Air is a 100% outside air ventilation unit that provides freeze protection and meets building codes. It's engineered to provide proper cubic feet per minute (CFM) with balanced British thermal units (BTUs) for semi-heated spaces. The unit features a draw-through, direct-fired heater and a down-blast, high-velocity discharge.
Where does it fit?
The Spec Air Series is suitable for a range of applications, including new construction warehouses, freeze protection solutions, ventilation-driven applications, sustainable energy solutions, and semi-heated spaces. It is not recommended for retrofit/replacement, comfort-driven solutions, industrial makeup air projects (M Series), large heat requirements, or plan/spec projects.
Speculative buildings may remain unoccupied for months, and during the winter months, piping and other systems could be compromised if the building lacks proper insulation. Spec Air provides enough heat to keep products above freezing temperatures, which is typically around 40-45°F indoors. It's an economical solution that meets building codes and addresses basic ventilation needs without compromising the overall project budget.
The Spec Air Series is a reliable and cost-effective solution that provides freeze protection and meets code requirements for heating and ventilation in unoccupied spaces and we were grateful to have had the opportunity to demonstrate our latest innovation to the attendees of AHR 2023. If you have any questions or inquiries about the Cambridge Spec Air, please find your local representative today and we look forward to seeing you all again at AHR 2024!
